Reflections at a Reunion

Who are these strangers whom I know so well?
Girl grannies, greying boys, drawn by time's wandering,
To share a path again along an unknown shore.

What has each felt and thought and seen alone?
Love, loss and unimagined life have come our way
Adventuring out our Tehri Roads of years.

Why do I feel such pain as each one leaves?
Flung far, they've rooted deep in new found homes,
Yet still they hear the deodars and see the far off plains.

A part of each belongs to me and I to them.
