Woody Guthrie Discography

Researching and compiling a Woody Guthrie dicography is no small task, and I cannot include one on these pages. Because of the immense volume of Woody's recordings, no discography has ever been completed. Historian Guy Logsdon has come closest to finishing the task, and he will share the most current version of the 150 page, working discography with you for around $20 (basically the cost of reproduction). Logsdon also has a full catalog of merchandise, CDs, and videos which may interest you. Although I can't offer a full discography, I have a listing of Woody Guthrie recordings currently available on CD. Here is some contact information for Guy Logsdon:

CD Discography

This is an incomplete listing of Woody Guthrie recordings available on CD. You may find other CDs in some record stores, but most others have poor sound quality or are illegal, or both. Essentially, only Rounder Record Corp. and Smithsonian Folkways Recordings offer clearly legitimate recordings. Also, to my knowledge, any other available CDs offer very few songs that are not on one of the following discs.

Dust Bowl Ballads
