SuperDIR 2001
Version 8.14 was released
today. This is a minor
update only.

2000]
SuperDIR 2000 Version 8.13 was released
today. The following changes have been made:

New switch (/BGx) to force
background colour to specified colour. The colour x
is specified by a single hexadecimal digit (0 to F). This
feature is useful for consoles with background colours other
than black who load an ANSI.SYS driver.

SuperDIR now skips "File Accessed
Denied" errors and continues processing.
-
CRC calulations now read files in
chunks, rather than loading entire file into memory. This
avoids virtual memory problems on huge
files.

SuperDIR 2000 Version 8.12 was released today. The
SDIR32.EXE file in the previous version was incorrectly
distributed and did not address the /Y /S problem. This is now
rectified.

SuperDIR 2000 Version 8.11 was released today. The
following changes have been made:
- Fixed redirection problem when used
with /CLR switch
- Fixed problem using vertical sorting
(/Y) with recursive subdirectories (/S) and non-stop
scrolling
- Updated SuperDIR home page URL and
email address references

SuperDIR 2000 Version 8.1 was released today. The following
changes have been made:
- Added new format switch (/M3) to
display the 32-bit CRC of files. The master CRC of all files
is also displayed.
- Addressed some command line
processing issues
- Fixed again console problems where
buffer height greater than window height
- Fixed batch mode problem when
filenames contain a dollar sign ($) symbol. Must now use
asterix (*) instead of $
- Addressed problem when specifying a
UNC path that doesn't exist
- Addressed issue with commas not
being displayed correctly with some non-English character
sets on the drive information (/I) screen
- Can now press ESCAPE to exit when paused
The registration process has also been updated. Payment is
now in US dollars using a secure server provided by
RegSoft.

SuperDIR 2000 Version 8.0 was released today. The following issues have been addressed:
- Fixed problem of recursive mode
(/S) not processing directories in alphabetical order
- Fixed pausing problem on NT console
windows which have a buffer height greater than the window
height
- Updated tree mode (/tree) to handle
extremely deep and long directory structures
- Fixed problem of unsorted ordering
(/OU) still sorting files and directories
- Fixed problem of tree mode not sorting correctly
The SuperDIR home page has also been extensively upgraded. A secure registration
facility is now available.

SuperDIR 98 Version 7.91 was released today. The following new
features are of interest:
- Bug in conversion utility fixed so
all previous settings are correctly imported
- 16-bit version: Further addressed bug with cursor disappearing on some new
video cards

SuperDIR 98 Version 7.90 was released today. The following new features are of
interest:
- Fixed registration problem under Windows NT for users without administrator access
- This fix required changes to be made to the way SuperDIR stores its settings. As a
result, your existing settings will not be automatically imported. However, there is a
conversion utility will import configuration from previous versions in SCONFIG.
- Batch output now sorted
- 16-bit version: Bug fixed with cursor disappearing on some new video cards

SuperDIR 98 Version 7.80 was released today. The following new
features have been added in this release:
- New feature (/ATT) to color files
based on file attributes
- Now displays blank characters in
the same background colour as the default text, rather than
always in black. This is useful if you use a console
background colour other than black.
- Added support for multiple
representation of filenames with batch mode (/@), i.e. can
now use multiple $ symbols
- Fixed problem calculating cluster
sizes on FAT32 drives
- Fixed problem displaying directories with invalid dates/times

SuperDIR 98 Version 7.70 was released today. This version adds an option for year 2000
compliance. To display all dates in four digit format use the /Y2K option. This is
equivalent to the /4 option in Microsoft's update to COMMAND.COM (and Windows 98).

SuperDIR 98 Version 7.60 was released today. This is a minor upgrade to version 7.50
which adds many features:
- New batch mode (/@) option which
allows batch files to be generated based on SuperDIR output
- Free space now displayed in
recursive mode (/S)
- Fixed bug in tree mode (/TREE) when
display reaches end of screen
- Fixed bug in tree mode (/TREE) relating to incorrectly drawn branches

SuperDIR 98 Version 7.50 was released today. This is a major upgrade to version 7.10
which adds many features:
- New options for specifying range filters
- /[S...] filters by file size
- [D...] filters by file date
- [T...] filters by file time
- New mode that interprets wildcards
as regular expressions (/R)
- Now supports multiple wildcards
- Fixed problem displying free space
on Novell Netware volumes
- Improvements and bug fixes made to
bare mode (/B)
- No longer pads lines with spaces
when redirecting output
- Improvements made to console mode
handling
- Improved handling of conversion
from ANSI to OEM character sets
- Can now press 'Q' to end display as
well as 'X'
- SuperDIR 97 6.17: New 16 bit version that fixes /L and /E functionality under exclusive
DOS mode.

Version 7.10 was released today. This is a major upgrade to version 7.01 which adds
many features:
- New options for Windows NT
- /MO[x] displays file owners,
where x is an optional paramater specifying the column
width (default 15)
- /MC displays compressed file size
- /MR displays compressed file ratio
- New options for compatibility with Windows NT
- /C and /-C to enable/disable
comma thousand separators
- /N to display files in "new NT
display format"
- /D to display files in wide format with vertical sorting (Previous /D option renamed to
/G)
- New /(1..9) option to specify
number of columns. The previous /(1..4) option to specify
minimum of columns is now /Q(1..4)
- New options to display more than one file date/time type simultaneously
- /MT1 displays last accessed time
(Win95/NT)
- /MT2 displays creation time
(Win95/NT)
- /MT3 displays last write time (Win95/NT)
- New /Kx option to specify width of
redirected output
- Now fully supports hard disk sizes
greater than 2.1GB

Version 6.15 was released today. This version has the following changes:
- Now features full network support
- Correct handling of UNC
specifications (eg. \\comp_name\shared_drive)
- /TREE now supported over
un-mapped network
- Fixed problem with leading
backslash (\) not being added to directory specifications.
- Added extensive error handling for network errors
- Changed parsing of file
specification so "*" is appended rather than ".*" under
Windows 95 LFN mode
- Corrected parsing of file
specifications ending with "." and "*."
- Reduced size of SDIR.EXE by code
optimisation
- Fixed delay when loading a mouse
driver and not under Windows 95 (again!)
- Fixed ".C" extension in defaults
not functioning

- Configuration file (SUPDIR.CFG) now
automatically generated whenever settings are changed.
Consequently, the /SAVE and /REST options have been removed
as they are now redundant. This facility is now also
available in the unregistered version.
- Fixed display bug caused with
redirection (/!) and /TREE or /-TURBO
- Summary information now displays
space allocated (based on cluster size)
- Tree display now shows space usage
of directories (based on cluster size)
- Bug with /SET remembering old settings rectified (introduced in 6.02) As a result,
settings will not import properly from v6.02 but still will from v6.01

that it applies to each screen rather than the entire set of
