идеры Юго-восточной Азии позволили группе частных лиц разработать проект быстрого развития информационных технологий в этом регионе. Было дано задание кинуть основные силы на разработку обширного и глубокого проекта с вовлечением Ассоциации Юго-восточных наций. Ассоциация развивает инфраструктуру информационных технологий наряду с торговлей, чтобы улучшить экономику региона.
Но, как заявили представители частного сектора после 45-минутной беседы с лидерами АЮН, будет трудно согласовать всю информационно-технологическую промышленность в регионе.
"Лидеры серьезно обеспокоены информационной инфраструктурой Ассоциации, потому что если мы не устраним трудности с доступностью Интернета, мы останемся далеко позади", - сообщил глава группы частного сектора на конференции.
Год назад лидеры АЮН пообещали образовать инфраструктуру к 2004 году. Группа представила ассоциации документ, содержащий оценку состояния информационных технологий в Юго-восточной Азии и план создания там инфраструктуры информационных технологий.
На данный момент доступ в Интернету во всех 10 странах входящих в ассоциацию (Бруней, Комбоджиа, Индонезия, Лаос, Малайзия, Мьянмар, Филиппины, Сингапур, Таиланд и Вьетнам) достаточно дорогой: Подключение к сети стоит порядка 1000 долларов.
