Welcome to the Official MDJCL website! The MDJCL is a chapter of the National Junior Classical League, the largest classical organization in the world. The JCL's 57,000+ members are dedicated to promoting the study of Latin as well as ancient Greek and Roman history and mythology. We, the MDJCL, are an active and growing group placing 4th in the Membership Contest at the 1999 National Convention.
Saturnalia, an event presented by the MDJCL on December 1, 1999 was a success! Despite the cold weather, the outdoor games continued, even the Greasy Banana toss and the Mummy Wrap (much to the displeasure of those having to chase flying pieces of toilet paper!). The next event coming up is... *drumroll please*: STATE CONVENTION! The executive board is currently planning this long awaited event so please keep visiting this website for more information regarding the biggest MDJCL event of the year!
