Material Borrowing:
The Library allows each family to have 1 card (although more can be given if this is a major problem). Each family member may have a maximum of 7 books/tapes/magazines, etc. For audio/visual material the limit is 2 per each adult member. A patron may only borrow 2 books in any Non-Fiction subject area.
In order to recieve a card a patron must:

If it does not state their CURRENT address the patron must bring an additional piece of ID with their address on it
Credit Card, Bank Card, Ontario Health Card, Photo ID + One other form of ID.

Loan Period/Overdue Fees:
Books, magazines, audio cassettes and pamphlets are loaned for a three week period. Loan periods for certain items that are high in demand, designated oversized and expensive materials, will be decided by the library staff. Books and other printed materials have an overdue fee of $0.20 a day to a maximum of $3.00 per item. Reference items are $1.00 per day to a maximum of $5.00. Videotapes are $1.00 per day to a maximum of $10.00
Internet Use:
Internet use at the Essa Centennial Branch is free of charge, and patrons can book the computers and hour at a time.
Please note: Any other activity on a computer does cost. The fees start at $1 per half hour to a maximum charge of $3.00 for an entire hours use. There is a student discounted charge that goes to a maximum of $2.00 for an hours use.
Printing:
Printing does have a fee attached. Printouts start at 25¢ each, with colour copier ranging from 50¢ to a $1.
Scanning
There is a scanner for patron use at the library, but patrons must know how to use the scanner properly, and use it themselves. Items that are copyrighted may not be scanned. The time it takes for the user to scan the document and print the pages will be charged the same as all non-internet usage (see above). Patrons will also be charged for the printouts.
Training/CyberCamps
There is no charge for personal 1-on-1 teaching of the internet. CyberCamps may charge nominal fees for supplies needed to run the camp (food/beverages, disks, software, etc.)
