Has anyone ever wondered what would have become of Scrooge McDuck if he hadn't lost his sled in "Last Sled to Dawson ?" He had bought a piece of land and went to Kitty for the last time with a box of chocolates. Would he had asked her to marry him ?

I am from Holland, where Goldie 'o' Glitt is called : 'Knappe Kitty'. In Holland, where waiting for the release of "Return to Forbidden Valley" this week, by the way. There are a lot of Don Rosa fans here, as far as I know. Did the discussion about Scrooge marrying Goldie ever come up before ? Thanks for your reply, Madame Comic Collecter! |

Of course no-one can ever now what exactly would have happened. More important is what Scrooge and Goldie feel fore each other and if Scrooge will ever marry her.

My favorite topic!!! Yes! :-) There are so many "what-ifs" with Scrooge and Goldie. What if he hadn't lost his sled. What if the Red Cross ladies hadn't dragged her away, after the fire? What if Scrooge had opened that letter instead of dropping it in the snow? What if they had gotten married in 1898? So many questions and so few answers! :-( My personal theory is they are soul mates, and nothing can separate them forever. In "A Little Something Special", when Goldie left, she said she'd wait for him, still. And she still is. If only Scrooge would just get some sense knocked into him, and go back to her! :-) The duck comics need a strong female character, anyway. A good one, that is. Magica is a strong female character, but she's a villain! Daisy isn't good for much. Grandma isn't the treasure-hunting type. But I think Goldie would fit in perfectly. Ah, well... Time shall tell... :-)

Thanks. It seemed a natural pseudonym, considering my favorite storyline... *g* |

I'd like to expand on that 'soulmate' theory. It's my favoritest subject (Plus I've been wanting to discuss it with someone who might not think I'm totally insane.)I 1000% percent agree that Goldie and Scrooge are connected on this amazingly deep level. They are what is called "twin souls".(This might get confusing here but stay with me, I might actually have a point!) Soulmates and twin souls are NOT the same. Soulmates are seperate souls that are linked together in some way; twin souls are two sides of the same soul. Okay so here is my pseudo-point. Twin souls are basically polar opposites. (You know, like taking 2 north poles of magnets -- they are the same, but because they are so similar they repel each other). Twin soul relationships are intensely charged, but because they're so violently emotional they are often stormy, harsh, and end bitterly. Tragic romance, hardcore heartbreak and all that. Sound familiar!? Scrooge and Goldie are either together and ready to bite each other's heads off, or alone reminiscing about the bittersweet romance they (occasionally )share. And another thing; they have to go their separate ways before they can complete each other. Both sides have to be perfectly developed for the relationship to work. Cranky old misers and cold-hearted thieves aren't exactly what I'd call "perfectly developed". If both sides aren't ready, the relationship will be intense, but it won't last. Fate will somehow always keep them apart. Which is why he lost his sled. Which is why the Red Cross ladies dragged her away after the fire. Which is why he dropped the letter in the snow, instead of opening it. But of course, they won't stay seperated forever. Twin souls have to meld together, eventually. It's their destiny. Of course, Scrooge could just suck it up and go back to her anyway. What's a little destiny against Don Rosa? Phew! That whole stream of consciousness definitely needed to come out. Thanks for letting me vent, guys. ;-D |
