Why does Davis need DCM?

Over 250 homeless people live in Yolo Conty alone. Nearly 4,000 county families are on waiting lists for affordable housing in our community. Many individuals and families in our area have trouble making ends meet and often go hungry.

The needy in our community have underlying concerns that contribute to their cycle of hunger and homelessness such as issues issues of employment and mental and physical health. Drug and alcohol addiction are also possible factors.

Individuals who are in danger of becoming homeless are also offered access to DCM's many services.

DCM's mission is to help the homeless meet basic needs while providing a safe, encouraging environment which will foster the individual's independence and ability to survive.

Not only the homeless eat at DCM's free meals.
