What does Davis Community Meals do?
Davis Community Meals...
- Provides a free evening meal every Tuesday at 5:45 and a Saturday lunch at 11:30, 52 weeks a year.
- Has a 16 bed facility and offers cold weather and year round shelter to individuals in Davis.
- Provides access to career counselors to enhance job seeking and retention skills.
- Provides access to substance abuse recovery counselors.
- Provides case management to link individuals with appropriate community services.
- Provides availability of transitional housing as a preliminary step toward permanent residence.
- Offers access to laundry facilities, showers, and emergency food and clothing at the Resource Center.
Telephone use and bus passes are offered for such purposes as job searches and medical appointments.
Residence in the shelter is not required to access the Resource Center.
- Welcomes migrant farm workers to the area with a free lunch in May.
