I worked yesterday from 2:30pm until 3am this morning. Hence, I was in no condition to do an entry after work. My brain was total mush when I walked in the door this morning. It's been a long time since I've been that tired: not just physically exhausted, but mentally drained as well. I had been working a parking lot shuttle that our company was doing for Sea World. While the actual work wasn't hard (drive to the parking lot, get people, drive to security station, get people, drive to parking lot), the concentration was. I had to concentrate for over twelve hours on a rather mindless task. If I ran the world, today would have been a rainy, dreary day so I could stay inside. But instead it was a sunny, cool, beautifully cloudless day that demanded attention. I went for lunch at my parents', since it was my dad and LilSis' birthday. I sat in the cool breeze, basked in the warm sun, and wished that the day would creep by. So of course it didn't. If Dave had been here, I would have gone to the park with him so that we could walk along the river and enjoy the gorgeousness that was today. We could have had a picnic at the ledges and sat down to watch the sun set... Falling from sunny yellow to faded orange to layered red to dusky indigo. But of course, he wasn't here. To round off the indignities, my back is killing me from sitting in the bus all day yesterday. I've taken as much aspirin as I dare, but it still throbs something awful. When I'm moving it's not that bad, but sitting still (like when I'm at the computer here) makes it hurt. A lot. So please excuse the lack of entry yesterday and the lack of substance in today's.
