bad luck

The rash of Bad Luck continues.

While walking down to the lower bay at work today, I slipped on the gravel and fell down. It was a pretty bad fall, since it was on gravel, on a slope, and I banged up the left side of my body as I hit the ground.

(Just to show was a nerd I am: I had a two-way radio hand unit clipped to my belt. As I fell, my only thought was, "Don't break the radio! Don't break the radio!")

I now have some beautiful blood blisters on my left hand, and some pretty bruises all along my left leg.

I know that Bad Luck is only what you make of it. If all you think about are the negative things that happen, of course it'll look like you're having a string of bad luck. But sometimes, thinking negatively can't be helped. That dark cloud that's hanging over me right now is dimming all the good things that happened in the past few days, causing me to just see the bad.

So let's see if I can think positively, just for a moment here.

My parents are thinking about buying me plane tickets to Canada for my birthday. (Yay!) But when my dad started looking at the prices of tickets, he just about had a coronary. I might not be getting those tickets after all... We'll have to see.

Argh. Fell back into negativity there. Let's try again.

Um...

I didn't have to drive the Polish kids tonight.

Ten minutes later: Argh! This is too hard. I can't think of anything. Try me again tomorrow.
