I went to another baseball game in Cleveland today. This is turning into a regular thing, isn't it? grin Before I left for the game, I riffled through by bill basket and discovered that I hadn't paid my city income tax yet. In fact, I hadn't even filled out the form. So, in a fit of panic, I filled out the form and came to the regretful conclusion that I owed the city $165. Ick. Unfortunately, I don't have $165. They do give the option of paying in four installments, though, so I sent them a check for $41. I really hope I remember to send them the rest of the payments. Anyway, the game was pretty good. I went to bed with a headache last night, and woke up with it in the morning. I had it for the entire drive to Cleveland, and by the third inning or so it had faded away to nothing. I wish I knew what caused these awful headaches I get. (Err, actually, they're migranes. I just call them headaches because I can pretend they don't hurt as much that way.) When I get a headache, the best thing I can do for it is to lay down in a dark room. I usually end up falling asleep, and by the time I wake up the pain is usually gone. Of course, I'm not sure if it's the dark and rest that makes the headache go away, or if it went away on its own while I was asleep. Frankly I don't care - I'm just happy it's gone. Headaches basically bring my world to a standstill. The pain is all I can think about, and thinking about the pain (dwelling on it) just seems to make it worse. I dope myself up with various types of pain medication, but nothing seems to work, not even the super "made-for-migranes" pills. No combination of food or drink, rest or alertness, or any sort of activity appears to cause the pain. It comes out of nowhere - no aura, no premonition. (Usually.) And until it goes away I'm useless. It sucks. I should probably go to a doctor about these headaches, but I (a) can't afford it right now and (b) they would just give me medication that wouldn't work and I couldn't afford. So I suffer... and spend a lot of time wishing I was asleep, since it doesn't hurt when I'm asleep.
