Well, tomorrow Dave is leaving.

These past few days have gone by far too quickly. Today, while we were touring Amish country with my parents, it seemed that he'd just gotten here. It just didn't seem right that he was leaving.

It'll be about two full months before we see each other again. I really can't take anymore time off of work. The next "window of opportunity" will be at the end of June when we go to Anthrocon.

God, I can't talk about this right now.

After our little impromptu tour of east central Ohio, we filled out a few forms that need to be sent to Canadian immigration. I'm really up-tight about any sort of paper work, so this is really giving me a headache. After we realized Dave was going to have to supply most of the information, we opted to go for a walk.

I got lost twice, and ended up at a reasonable facsimile of the place I was looking for. I wanted to show Dave the Erie Canal towpath, which has been turned into miles of walking, biking and hiking trails. We didn't find the exact segment I was looking for, but it did just fine. (The towpath was the path next to the canal where the mules walked. The mules pulled the canal boats up the canal. The canal is now segmented into many different bits and pieces of the original canal. and some of the locks are still intact.) We walked a ways and turned around and walked back.

We went to dinner.

We came home and looked at wedding ceremony readings.

Now we're putzing around trying to make this last evening last as long as possible.

It's not fair. It can't be over already. He just got here.

He just got here.

______ of the Day

Today's pointless platitude is that there won't be many more goodbyes.
