Grrrraaaaaaaaaaaaghghghghgh!

What the hell did I do to deserve this shit?

I've had the bait-n-switch pulled on me again. First Geocities, then Xoom, and now Prohosting. They're going to start putting banner ads on my page. I don't know if they're going to be in-line ads, pop ups, or some new ungodly form of ad. All I know is that they're on the way.

I'm sorry. I can't move everything again; I'm sick to death of always moving my page around looking for a free ride. I do understand that when I'm getting something for free, there has to be a catch. Of course, I know lots of readers are going to abandon ship... sigh Well, until I can afford a real web host, I'm staying here. Ads and all. Trust me - I probably hate it more than you do.

Fuck!

Moving Right Along...

I'm tired. I have a headache. I went to Cleveland today to take a class in Crystal Reports. My job paid for it, so I was more than happy to go... Except that I had to be there by 8am. It takes me an hour to get to Independence. Grr.

So, yawning and disheveled, I showed up at the center. The class was interesting. I've played around with Crystal Reports a few times. That's basically how I learn new software, just screwing around. This class was very basic, mostly discussing report design rather than the nitty gritty of how to get the results you want. Apparently that's covered in the Advanced class.

I kept finishing what we were supposed to do way before anyone else, and there were people who actually did this stuff for a living in the class. The instructor asked me if I've used Crystal Reports before. Heh. Maybe I should go into computers...

I was rather surprised by the other classes they were offering. The classrooms had placards out front showing what was being taught inside, and all the classes were packed. The few that surprised me were Outlook (uh... What's to know?) and Intro to Windows 95.

Windows 95???

I would have expected them to be teaching Windows 2000 now, or at least Windows 98. And - oh, I don't know. Maybe I've turned into a huge computer snob... But I never had to take a class on how to use Windows. The first time I saw it, a friend had just finished installing all 28 diskettes onto his computer. I hit the start button and never looked back.

Ok, I suppose that if you've used a Mac all your life and wanted to get a job which required a PC, a Windows class might come in handy.

Anyway, I was rather disappointed in the Crystal Reports class. I think I'd expected us to cover more ground. Oh well.

Yay!

Dave is coming! Dave is coming! Dave is coming!

He'll be here tomorrow night. In 24 hours I'm going to be ready to explode, waiting to leave for the airport to pick him up.

It has been a really rough couple of weeks, and Dave's visit is just what the doctor ordered. I need to see him. I need to hug him. I need to kiss him. I need to rest my head on his shoulder. I need to scrub my fingers around in his hair. I need to cuddle up to him. I need to know that's he's close by.

I'm betting that I won't have time to do an entry tomorrow. There are some really gross housekeeping things I need to do before work, and after work I'm going to get the air mattress ready and finish up what I couldn't do during the day. So, I'll see you on Friday. Maybe I'll talk Dave into doing another guest entry. grin

It's About Time...
