Days like this I wish could last forever. It's the end of February and we had temperatures in the 70s. Did you hear me? That's an seven followed by a zero! As in, higher than 60s! Our normal temperature is just around freezing. grin I managed to get my patio cleaned up today. That pumpkin that I've had sitting in a bag in a puddle on my patio for months is gone. It wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. I just picked up the bag and threw it out. For some reason I thought that the pumpkin goo inside would slosh all over and spill on me and gross! and stuff. I also made something that I'd been meaning to try for a while. You throw two pounds of chicken, two cans of cream of chicken soup and one can of cheddar cheese soup into the crock pot and let it cook for six hours or so. Then you serve it over rice. Oh... OH... OH!!!! Orgasm chicken, that's what that stuff is. The recipe makes enough for four people, so I packed up the three extra servings and threw them in the freezer. This way I can have orgasm chicken for dinner this week. Yum! I didn't do much else. I opened my bedroom window for the first time in a few months and let the breeze into my room. Everything up there smells like spring; that fresh earthy scent just seems to energize me. I repotted a plant and swept the gunk off the patio and vacuumed the living room and washed a few dishes. I'm sorry the day is over so soon... I wish I'd thought to go for a walk in the woods. And I wish Dave was here. When the weather turns warm, there's nothing I like better than going for a nice walk in the woods with someone I like. I've done a fair amount of hiking alone, but it's not the same. I like having someone along to point out that bird, or see what's around the next bend, or sit and watch the wind over the lake. If he had been here, today would have been just perfect. Instead I sat on my bed and watched the birds flit around in the sky. I think the birds were enjoying the nice day as much as I was; they flew in circles calling to each other just for the hell of it, or so it seemed. I could feel the wind on my face through the open window, just a breath of warm sunny air caressing my cheek. I miss him so much.

______ of the Day Today's thing to remember: I need to get a new suet cake, since the old one got all moldy and gross.
