insomnia

she's actual size - home

Yeah, I had a migraine last night.

It was bad. I ended up crawling off to bed around 10:15pm to lie beneath my sheets quivering in pain. Fortunately I fell asleep with dispatch so I was spared any extra wakening pain.

But I woke up around 1:15am. Boom, wide awake. I had been having a very interesting dream, which I was sorry to wake from. If dreams had titles, this one would have been called David and Sarah Have Some Excellent Sex. The headache was still there, but it had subsided to a dull ache. I tossed and turned for a bit before going downstairs to play a game on the computer, hoping that I would get tired again.

I went back upstairs around 3:30am, still wide awake. I got into bed anyway and tried to will myself into unconsciousness. Which, if you've ever tried it, never works. Toss, turn. Flip over, sigh. I lay there for two and a half more hours.

At 6:00am, I decided I had had enough and got out of bed... And I've been up ever since. I did take a short little nap on the couch during This Old House but it was more dozing than napping.

tired...

I got my grocery shopping done. I got pretzel sticks (yum!) and lots of other stuff I don't need. Like pre-cubed cheese. Sure, I can cube my own cheese, but it's a lot handier when someone else does it for you.

Besides, I had a coupon for 30 cents off.

I also went over and fixed my friend's computer. Her printer wasn't working at all. Depending on which program you tried to print from, it either said, "Bad driver" or "Not enough memory." I tried reinstalling the driver from the disk but it didn't work. We ended up downloading a new driver from the Canon web site, and voila it works perfectly.

Aaah. I feel like such a computer guru now.

Due to my lack of sleep I am unable to come up with something witty or profound or touching to say today, so (see above) that was my grocery list of things I did today.

HEY! I never took out the garbage. I have about 8 bags full sitting in the closet, and I keep forgetting about them. The ones on the bottom are decomposing already, I'm sure. Hmm. Maybe I can just turn the closet into an indoor compost heap.

Naah.

______ of the Day

Today's thought is: "My brain is a blob of goo."

Well, it is. Yours is, too. So there.
