xmas par-tay

Augh. Some idjit is in the process of posting the intro to the Redwall cartoon series to AFF, a non-binary newsgroup. All 25 segments of it. As Dave so eloquently put it, "What a git." This is gonna take a while - might as well write an entry, hmm?

Tonight was the Christmas party for work. I had volunteered to bring a green bean and french onion casserole. What was I thinking?

Obviously you weren't.

Too true. I can't cook. I got the fixings with no problem, but putting them together was a headache. I had to double the recipe. I didn't have a casserole dish, so I used a very big saucepan. I couldn't find my ¼-measuring cup, so I had to guess using a ½-measuring cup. And I forgot to put it back in for the second bake.

The top tasted fine. The bottom was gross. I apologized to everyone who got up to the buffet table late. frown

I had no idea what to take for the gift exchange/steal. (Your name is drawn, and you have the option of taking a wrapped gift, or stealing someone's already opened gift and giving them another wrapped one.) I ended up buying a set of aromatherapy votives. Fortunately, the people that ended up with them thought they were great.

When my name was called, I opted to get a still wrapped gift. It had 10 scratch off lottery tickets in it! Yay! But (boo!) someone stole it from me and I ended up getting a homemade coloring book that was made with someone's home computer. Oh well.

I also received two awards. They have real awards for safety and long service, and then "fake" awards for something silly that's happened during the year. (Both of my awards were fake. Heh.)

I didn't have the heart to tell them that Pokemon is spelled without any dashes. grin

The second award was simple. I scanned it and shared it with Dave.

I like the second award best. grin
