Some Pictures of the May 3, 1999 Oklahoma City area tornado destruction. These really do not show
the extent of the damage. A path close to a mile wide was cut through the South west to North-east
side of Oklahoma City and several surrounding communities. Large Old trees uprooted or broken in
half, entire housing districs destroyed, cars tossed like toys and wrapped around poles. This was a
category F5 tornado. The worst with top speeds around 300 miles per hour. Pavement was even
sucked off roadways. The cleanup is well under way, and it looks much better today, but it will be
many months until the rebuilding is finished. Sadly about 44 people lost there lives.

This shows the forming of the tornado, the tornado, and the damage.
